Kevin Cox has been a pastor with Calvary Chapels since 1996. He was ordained at Calvary Community Church in Phoenix, Arizona under the leadership of J. Mark Martin. In the Fall of 1998 Pastor Kevin helped to plant Calvary Chapel New Orleans with a vision and dream of seeing Calvary Chapel Ministry flourish in the deep southern states. As a native of Lubbock, Texas the south has always been home. The Calvary Chapel Church family has grown throughout the last twenty-two years and been blessed with genuine discipleship focused growth. In 2001 the New Orleans Calvary family branched out to start an additional fellowship through the request of a small group in Lafayette, Louisiana. Today that Church fellowship continues in ministry after fifteen years.
Pastor Kevin currently holds masters degrees in biblical studies, theology, and historical studies. He is currently in his Senior residency at New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary working toward a PhD in Biblical Interpretation with a minor in Theology.
Throughout the years Kevin has had the joy of teaching in bible college situations where higher education is limited. He continues to remain in a close relationship with Calvary Chapel in Cap Haitian, Haiti under the leadership of Leo Azelien. Currently Calvary New Orleans helps to support that church fellowship and a developing orphanage that has begun under Pastor Leo's household. Pastor Kevin also has had extensive experience in teaching one and two week long college level seminars through Calvary Bible College in Waterford, Ireland. Pastor Kevin recently joined Corporate Chaplains of America as a business chaplain, serving the workplace in order to build caring relationships with the hope of gaining permission to share the life-changing Good News of Jesus Christ in a non-threatening manner throughout New Orleans and Baton Rouge Louisiana.
